Wade Construction History

Born and bred in Taupo, John Wade has a long history in the building industry, starting out at a young age working alongside his mentor and father Robbie Wade. John later obtained a New Zealand Trade Certificate in Carpentry in 1988 after working as an Apprentice for Hawkins Construction. On the job training with Hawkins helped him to develop the skillsets and experience required for large scale commercial projects through-out the Central North Island. Today John is the Managing Director of Wade Construction, which employs over 40 staff and incorporates the “learn by doing” moto with on the job training and career growth opportunities for those eager to get ahead in the construction industry.

John is a “hands-on” true Tradesman, with decades of building experience coupled with many and varied personal renovations carried out with his wife Karen. Their experience and trustworthy reputation has seen the once small building business grow into one of the regions leading construction company’s. John’s passion for the industry continues - he is a long standing member of the NZ Certified Builders Association and his wealth of knowledge has filtered through as mentor and confidant for young apprentices. A glow of pride and satisfaction is evident when John reflects on his team members winning Regional Apprenticeship awards - a job well done by all.

John is continually focused on training, and is offering apprenticeships to motivated individuals who would like to become a quality tradesperson.
